A ski chalet tucked into the mountains. A condo overlooking a resort village. A rooftop terrace after a long day. A lakeside getaway where everyone drops their bags, kicks off their shoes, and immediately starts looking for the hot tub.
That was the vision behind the Whistler.
We wanted to build a hot tub for the places people escape to. Not just the big backyard spaces where almost any spa can fit, but the harder spaces. The tighter spaces. The terraces, decks, condo patios, mountain retreats, and resort properties where space is valuable and every inch has to matter.
The Whistler was designed for customers who want the Arctic Spas experience but need it to fit a very specific lifestyle.
Built for the Places Where Space Comes at a Premium
A lot of vacation properties were never really designed around a hot tub.
You might have a 7 x 7 terrace. Maybe an 8 x 8 deck. In some cases, you might be working with a rectangular space closer to 8 x 6. Just enough room for a couple of chairs, a small table for morning coffee, and maybe a barbecue for grilling steaks after a long day outside.
That is where the challenge starts.
Most people who own a condo, chalet, cabin, lake house, or resort getaway want a hot tub. They can picture it immediately. The steam rising in the cold air. The quiet moment at night. The kids laughing. The adults relaxing. The sore legs finally getting a break after a day of skiing, boating, hiking, or exploring.
But then reality hits.
Will it fit?
Will it seat enough people?
Can it be serviced?
Can I maintain the water when I am not there every week?
Those were the exact questions we wanted to answer with the Whistler.
Small Footprint. Big Purpose.
The Whistler is part of our Classic Series and was built around one very specific idea: create a spa that fits where other spas struggle, without making it feel like a compromise.
We would classify the Whistler as roughly a 7 x 6 foot spa, with actual dimensions of 85 x 69 x 39 inches. That footprint matters because it opens up opportunities in spaces where a traditional square spa may not work.
But fitting the space was only half the job.
We also wanted the Whistler to feel roomy, social, and comfortable. The Whistler has six proper seats and can handle up to eight people when everyone is comfortable getting a little closer. That makes it a great fit for the way vacation homes are actually used. Most of the time, it may be two people enjoying a quiet soak. But on the weekend, when the family arrives or friends come over after a day on the hill or at the lake, everyone wants in.
That is the balance we were chasing.
Comfort for two most of the time.
Room for the group when it matters.
Designed Around Real Life, Where Memories are Created
The seating layout is one of the things I really like about this spa.
The long bench gives you room for four people. The two bucket seats create that “his and hers” comfort zone that feels great when you just want to settle in and let the jets do their job. The two flat side seats are incredibly useful as well. They work as step-in points, shallow cooldown seats, and perfect spots for kids.
That kind of flexibility is important in a small footprint spa.
When you are working with limited space, every seat has to earn its place. The Whistler does that really well. It gives you a spa that feels compact from the outside, but very usable once you are in it.
Made for Ski Legs, Lake Days, and Weekend Living
There is a reason hot tubs and vacation properties go together so well.
After a full day of skiing, your legs and feet feel it. Anyone who has spent the day in ski boots knows exactly what I mean. Your calves are tight. Your feet are sore. Your back is tired. You used muscles you forgot you had.
The same thing happens after a day on the lake. Water skiing, wake surfing, paddleboarding, swimming, or even just balancing on the deck of a boat all day takes more out of you than people realize.
That first soak at the end of the day is different.
It is not just relaxation. It is recovery. It is family time. It is the moment where the day slows down and everyone reconnects.
That is what the Whistler was built for.
Service Access Where You Actually Need It
One of the biggest mistakes people can make in a tight-space installation is buying a spa that is not designed to be serviced in that environment.
It is one thing to fit a hot tub onto a deck.
It is another thing to keep it running properly for years.
If a spa is pushed up against a railing, a wall, or the side of a building, you may not have access to all four sides. That can become a serious problem if the spa ever needs service.
With the Whistler, we designed the parts and access around that reality. The components that matter are accessible from one side of the spa. That makes service easier. It makes maintenance easier. It makes future upgrades easier.
This is where the Arctic Spas design philosophy really matters.
We have always believed access is important. Eventually, if you own something long enough, it may need service. It may need an upgrade. It may need a technician to get inside and solve a problem.
Buying a fully foamed-in spa for this type of setting can turn into a nightmare. If the spa is boxed into a tight terrace and something goes wrong, where does the technician go? How do they reach what they need? How much of the cabinet has to be exposed? How much time does the repair take?
The Whistler was designed to avoid that problem.
It is a small footprint spa, but it is still built with real ownership in mind.
Choose the Experience That Fits Your Lifestyle
The Whistler sits in our Classic lineup and can be purchased in either a 15-jet or 30-jet oscillating hydrotherapy massage configuration.
That gives customers flexibility.
Some people want a simple, comfortable, great looking spa that fits the space and delivers a relaxing soak. Others want to upgrade the massage experience, add automation, extend warranty coverage, and create a more premium ownership experience.
The Whistler gives you that choice.
For a vacation property, resort condo, rental, or second home, that matters. Not every customer wants the same solution. Some want value and simplicity. Some want a spa that does as much of the work as possible for them. The Whistler can be built around either goal.
Solving the Biggest Vacation Home Problem: Water Care
This might be the most important part of the Whistler story.
If this spa is going into a second home, weekend retreat, vacation rental, ski condo, or lake property, the biggest issue is not usually the soak.
It is what happens when you are not there.
Hot tubs need care. Filters need to be changed. Water needs to be drained and refilled. Sanitizer levels need to be maintained. pH levels need to be monitored and adjusted.
There is nothing worse than planning a weekend away, driving for hours, arriving excited to relax, and opening the cover to bad water.
Now the weekend changes.
Instead of soaking, you are draining. Instead of relaxing, you are treating water. Instead of enjoying the spa on Friday night, you are hoping it is ready by Sunday, right before you have to pack up and head back to the grind.
That is exactly where SpaBoy, SmartPH, and OnSpa can completely change the experience.
SpaBoy, SmartPH, and OnSpa: Control From Miles Away
SpaBoy is built on the backbone of a saltwater system and is designed to automatically test and help manage sanitizer levels in your spa water.
When sanitizer levels drop below the recommended range, SpaBoy generates sanitizer from our unique blend of natural Dead Sea salt to help keep the water properly sanitized. No more guessing. No more constant test strips. No more hoping the water will be fine when you get back.
SmartPH adds another level of convenience by testing and adjusting pH levels to help keep the water in the proper range for the spa and for your skin.
Then there is OnSpa.
Most hot tub apps allow you to check temperature, turn jets on or off, control lights, or adjust basic settings. That is useful, but OnSpa goes much further.
With OnSpa, you can view water test results. You can see when SpaBoy and SmartPH are making adjustments. You can manage filtration, heating, energy efficiency, SpaBoy, SmartPH, and other settings from your phone. You can also access diagnostic tools that help you understand how your spa is performing.
Even better, you can grant access to your local Arctic Spas dealer so they can review diagnostics remotely. In certain situations, they may be able to help correct an issue remotely or determine whether a service visit is needed before the problem becomes bigger.
For a vacation home, that kind of peace-of-mind is hard to overstate.
Whether you are onsite or miles away, these tools help you stay connected to your spa and confident that it is ready when you are.
These features are available as upgrades depending on the experience you are looking for. My advice is to speak with an Arctic Spas representative and build the Whistler around how you actually plan to use it.
Why We Named It the Whistler
We named the Whistler after one of the most iconic vacation destinations in Canada: Whistler, British Columbia.
That name felt right.
Whistler is one of those rare places that means something in every season. In the winter, it is known around the world for skiing, snowboarding, snow, mountains, chalets, and resort living. In the summer, it becomes a destination for lakes, biking, hiking, golf, and outdoor adventure.
It is the kind of place where people go to feel alive, reconnect, recover, and make memories.
It is also a place that understands cold.
That matters to us.
Arctic Spas was built around the idea that hot tubs should be engineered for extreme climates. If a spa can perform in the cold, it can perform anywhere. The Whistler name connects directly to that story. It represents resort living, mountain air, cold weather performance, and the emotional side of owning a hot tub in a place that is special to you.
The Whistler Is More Than a Small Spa
The Whistler is not just a smaller hot tub.
It is a purpose-built hot tub.
It was designed for a specific customer, a specific setting, and a specific lifestyle. It solves the space problem. It solves the seating problem. It solves the service access problem. With the right upgrades, it can also solve the remote water care problem.
That is what makes it exciting.
It gives condo owners, chalet owners, vacation property owners, lake house owners, and resort getaway customers a spa that finally makes sense for the way they live.
Small footprint.
Big seating.
Easy access.
Flexible jetting.
Smart automation options.
Built for the places we escape to.
That is the Whistler.
